My name is Sinenhlanhla Tsekiso and I have been nominated to serve on the South African Monitoring and Evaluation Association. I have over ten years of experience working in monitoring and evaluation in different spheres of government in South Africa. I have worked as an Assistant Director for Evaluations at DPME, and in the evaluation unit at the KZN Office of the Premier.

Currently, I am a Programme Manager for Evaluation Systems at the CLEAR AA, working with Anglophone Africa countries, assisting them in strengthening their national evaluation systems and capacity. Over the years, I have participated in a number of SAMEA conferences and just recently was involved in the hackathon, where I was part of the team that developed the Transformative Equity criterion, which we presented in a number of forums such as the European Evaluation Association conference in 2022.

As a prospective board member, I want to bring my experience in improving government and non-government institutions to embedding transformative equity guidelines. I would ensure that as a board member, we influence other VOPEs across the region to adopt and contextualise these guidelines into their own government or country system. In addition, I applaud the great efforts being made to institutionalise evaluations in the local government sphere. I believe my experience in local government will help different SAMEA chapters to tackle issues of M&E within that sphere to promote better delivery of service.
