The MEL Officer will support the monitoring, evaluation and learning activities that Wordworks undertakes through collection, management, analysis and presentation of data. The role will maintain and improve effective MEL systems which inform a reflective and accountable working culture and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation's work in order to ultimately support monitoring, learning, research, evaluation, planning and reporting within the organisation, as well as knowledge sharing outside the organisation.
The MEL manager will lead the MEL strategy and all monitoring, evaluation, reporting and learning systems in Wordworks. They will lead and create an environment in which data and evidence are systematically produced, quality-assured, analysed, and interpreted; and establish how knowledge is institutionalised and used for programme growth, project improvements, for advocacy and for the benefit of the sector. The manager will lead efforts to strengthen timely strategic information, monitoring and evaluation for organisational accountability, funding proposals and donor reporting. The role will also be responsible for overseeing the development, maintenance and improvement of the MEL systems which inform a reflective and accountable working culture and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation’s work in order to support research, evaluation, learning, planning and reporting within the organisation.
